Jiffy Frosting Recipe

Baking-22.jpg

I'm not sure if you have heard of Jiffy Frosting, but it is kind of a unique frosting.  It is a thicker almost "grittier" type of frosting. Either way, it is my family's absolute favorite.  So, I went to the store to grab some for a birthday cake I was making when I was surprised not to find it.  Granted, it normally is hard to find and I normally purchase it at Marsh.  This year however I encountered a problem as Marsh is closed.  I went to all the stores around to look for it.  Meijer. Walmart.  Sam's Club. Target. Kroger.  Everywhere around us, and couldn't find it.  So I decided to go on a hunt to find a recipe.  Surely I could make it right?! As I searched though I struggled to find a chocolate Jiffy frosting recipe.  After searching Yahoo Answers and various sites, I finally found a photo on Pinterest of a recipe.  It didn't really connect to a site, but I decided to try it.  It ended up working okay, certainly Jiffy was hard to recreate, but it was pretty good!  I had to add significantly more confectioner sugar to make it thick enough but I liked it! So, if you are a fan of Jiffy Frosting give it a try.

ORIGINAL RECIPE

No guarantees on this recipe because, like I mentioned, I just saw it in a photo on Pinterest. I had to edit and kinda wing the recipe at the end to get it to the right consistency ... but I thought it got pretty close to the original Jiffy frosting.  If you're interested in trying a new frosting for your cake, check out Jiffy.  And hey, best thing about frosting is that it most often means you are celebrating something. Which is awesome.

XOXO,
