This March, my phone background is very similar to last months - as it focuses on this idea of rest.
As I’ve been trying to focus on Sabbath and dwelling in God’s presence... I have experienced supernatural rest in those moments. I hope that you have found spaces to dwell with God, and in those moments experienced the peace and rest that comes only from him. Let’s be honest, we can try to find rest in things of the world (a long bath, shopping, over eating, working out too much, sleeping all day) - and don’t get me wrong sleep and eating are good things. Jesus slept and ate. But, I want to remind you that nothing on this side of eternity will ever satisfy as much as God.
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
So I’m using these backgrounds to remind myself, when I’m tired or worn out… there is no rest like being in the presence of God.
