Easter Table Decor DIY
Easter is one of my favorite holidays. Truly.
If you have ever been to an Easter meal with me, or really any holiday, you know I love making little crafts and fun additions to table decor! This year, as I’m teaching elementary and middle school art, I did some lessons on weaving. I designed some fun little projects for kiddos to do to have fun decorating the table (and if you’re an adult like me… they’re still fun to do too!). I've included some templates but hope this can bring some joy to your home this Easter.
I designed 2 fun activities to keep kids involved, practice some artistic skills, and create adorable table decorations! One is a mini Easter basket, that could be used as a nametag holder or just to put goodies in, and a placemat that is an easy weaving practice project!

PLACEMAT INSTRUCTIONS
1) Use the template included to cut slits in a paper. Fold the paper in half and cut the dotted lines.
Make sure not to cut all the way to the edge of the paper.
2) Cut out strips of paper.
If you have a different color of paper, it is helpful to use that here!
On a separate paper, cut out strips of paper (about the same size as the lines in the original paper.)
3) Weave the first strip.
Take the colored paper and begin weaving it through the original paper.
You can do this by going over and under, and over and under the original paper.
4) Tape off the ends.
To keep the different strips from slipping, tape the ends of them.
Try to do this in a way that you don’t’ see the tape!
5) Trim the Ends
Once everything is weaved, cut off the ends that may be hanging off the side.
6) You’re done!
Make sure to tag me in photos if you or your kids make any of these projects! I hope that this Easter, while inside, we can still make the most of it and celebrate with joyful hearts!
HAPPY EASTER!
