FREE Phone Wallpaper- February

This February, I’ve been reflecting on my word for the year: dwell.

This word stood out to me, because I have found that in my hurry and busy schedules I have been really struggling to Sabbath. And when I have “sabbath-ed”, I’ve been feeling anxious or hurried. The scriptures came to mind of dwelling in God’s presence. As I did some research, the word dwell is used in a lot of different ways through scripture. It is used in reference to dwelling places (homes), it is used to refer to sitting in the Old Testmaent, and then it is used throughout the Bible to refer to the idea of abiding, inhabiting, and remaining. Bible Study Tools has an interesting article talking about some of the uses of dwell:

God "dwells in light" ( 1 Timothy 6:16 ; 1 John 1:7 ), in heaven ( Psalms 123:1 ), in his church ( Psalms 9:11 ; 1 John 4:12 ). Christ dwelt on earth in the days of his humiliation ( John 1:14 ). He now dwells in the hearts of his people ( Ephesians 3:17-19 ). The Holy Spirit dwells in believers ( 1 Corinthians 3:16 ; 2 Tim 1:14 ). We are exhorted to "let the word of God dwell in us richly" ( Colossians 3:16 ; Psalms 119:11 ).

I’m using these as my phone wallpapers this year as a reminder to sit and dwell in God’s presence.
