Color of the Year
Okay, last year I did a post on the Pantone color of the year (and some of my favorite things) and so I wanted to follow up and do a post of some of my favorite items that include this year’s color!

Yellow & Gray
I found that unfortunately, this year’s color is one of my least favorite (I’m sorry). I’m pretty pale and so yellow has always been a difficult color to pull off. However, I am totally here for the gray color. Even though it is a little more “2020”, I still love concrete so I am going to incorporate that a lot in my home and style.
I do think that the yellow color is a fun, optimistic color that we needed after what 2020 brought. It naturally adds cheer and life to an environment. If you look in marketing yellow is associated with cheerfulness and playfulness. It just naturally brightens people's spirits. You will notice that the color also is used in a number of logos (and can you think of any yellow SALE signs). This is often because the bright yellow color can help affect the logical side of the brain that is involved with decision making and thinking an creative ideas.
I would love to know your thoughts on the color of the year! Do you like this yellow and gray combo? I always love switching up my decor, so I think this is always a fun challenge at the beginning of each year to strecth my design ideas and color palette.
So even though yellow is one of my least favorite colors, I may try incorporating it a little more in 2021!
